It is worth your life to bike down Lincoln St. Even driving, it shakes your car as if your car would fall apart. This street is very heavily trafficked by bikes (and cars unfortunately).

This is a large pothole with a lot of loose traprock that is really dangerous for bikers, as it is exactly the distance from the side of the road that bikers ride. It is really hard to see in the dark (when I took this picture).

A pedestrian was just hit by a car at Pearl and Lincoln St. There needs to be a stop sign on Pearl at Lincoln St. This intersection is not safe for pedestrians, bikes, cars, anyone.

There are 2 large potholes in the middle of the street. The traprock is coming out of the holes now, so they will very soon become deep holes. I was only allowed to upload one of the two photos I took at night. Sorry it is hard to see.

Why are you asking me to give the address again? I already entered the address and it is shown to the right.

  • 165 Whitney Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Yale University Campus
3 bicycle carcasses at the bike racks outside of Yale SOM look really trashy and like no one cares. This is not technically illegal dumping, but hey these bikes have to be removed.
  • 165 Whitney Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Yale University Campus
Right in front of Yale SOM, at the crosswalk where pedestrians are walking and waiting to cross the street, there is a huge puddle when it rains. The splash from passing traffic creates an amazing tsunami that bathes everyone on the sidewalk, which gets covered with mud and scum from the road. Really gross. the drivers cannot avoid it, because the lanes are narrow there and the drivers can't swerve out of the way. I am not sure if it is due to a blocked drain or bad drainage (no drain).

There is a row of dead trees. Next to the parking garage for the train station. Wow! This creates a depressing view of our city on arrival or departure! Can these be replaced with living trees???

77 Audubon Street New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green
One of New Haven's town jewels is the Audubon St pedestrian area with its concentration of Arts and Music schools/spaces. The trees on this street are almost uniformly DEAD. This includes 7 GIGANTIC MAPLE TREES, at least two of which are DEAD from top to bottom, and the others are in truly bad shape with major branches completely dead. This is DANGEROUS, especially for the kids and community members walking to and from their classes, afternoon programs etc. Also customers of the various businesses, including Koffee? It is also UGLY, undermining what could be a beautiful public space where people want to hang out on a lovely day (like today) with their lunch on one of the outside tables (I saw a family of 4 today). Unfortunately, these people were having a picnic in a landscape that looks like a nuclear apocalypse.
I did not take any photos today but you can see part of the problem on this screen snap from google maps. The maple trees in particular are in way worse shape than when the google photos were taken.
